BREAKING: Real Madrid sacks new manager, Lopetegui

New Real Madrid manager, Julen Lopetegui, has been sacked as the head coach of Spain national team.

This dismissal was confirmed during a press conference on Wednesday morning, a day after the LaLiga club announced he would be replacing Zinedine Zidane.

Initial confirmation from the Spanish FA, said the 51-year-old would depart following the 2018 World Cup.

But the federation’s president, Luis Rubiales, is unhappy with the situation and has decided to fire Lopetegui two days before Spain’s Group B opener against Portugal.

“We have been forced to break our agreement with Julen Lopetegui.

“Lopetegui has been a great Coach. But we cannot accept this behaviour,” Rubiales said.
